This week’s Friday Props are all about people making cool ideas happen. From conception to reality these projects are incredibly nifty.I’ll dive in this week with this video sent to me by Edgeworks Creative’s own Adam Lacombe.  The project is half hack, half revival, of the nintendo power glove by animator Dillon Markey (well known for his work on robot chicken). He’s essentially turned the glove into a remote with various functions to make his claymation type animation much more efficient. This week friday props reaches for the stars, travels through time, and encounters some anomalies. Sit back and enjoy the wondrous world of sci fi with some of my favorite sci fi shorts from around the web. First up is Anomaly, a short (almost 40 minute) science fiction flick set in the 1960’s. The film was inspired by the traditional nativity story, and does an outstanding job portraying relationships “that intertwine around an unprecedented astronomical event”.  Beautifully filmed, with solid acting, and a compelling plot line, this is one worth saving for later if you can’t watch it now. With the holiday season already upon us many are feeling overwhelmed. We’ve found some props this week to remind you to keep calm, and carry on. First up is the incredibly stressful, incredibly fun looking indie game “Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes”. The concept is simple, one player plays in virtual reality, where they are presented with a bomb and no knowledge of how to disarm it. In the real world, other players around the diffuser pour over manuals and cooperatively work to talk the virtual reality player through the disarming process. Good tidings and strange findings, it’s an internet depths edition of Friday Props. We’ve got another round of things that only exist because of the internet, starting with this list of airport’s baggage carousels, and the directions they turn in. Found via the Dull Men’s Club website, which sports taglines such as “wherever you go, there you are” the list is exactly what you’d expect it to be, but here’s the link nonetheless. It’s Friday once more, and despite the festivities, we managed to steal some time to find a couple of props-worthy gems. We’ll open with this unique music video for Wilkinson's “Afterglow”. Director Remy Cayuela has picked up multiple awards for the video, including first prize in the Young Directors Award at the Cannes Festival this year and a nomination for ‘Best dance video’ award at the UK Music Video Awards. Props this week are short on words, but rich in visual and audible intrigue. We’ve scoured the internet for some of the most props-worthy, music heavy videos we could find. We’ll kick off with a beatbox breakfast sequence by Finnish artist Felix Zengar. Felix’s work heavily on looped audio tracks to deliver some sweet beats.
