We happen to be huge fans of botanical life. It's rather impossible to escape the pull of growing things when your winters are long and cold. The closer we edge toward the equinox the more time we spending daydreaming about the joy that will come with verdant hues and scents.
This week for Friday Props we're recognizing Katie Scott for her illustrative works which so richly reflect the botanic world.
Her skill is on display in spades in Story of Flowers. This animation is a collaboration directed by Azuma Makoto and animated by James Paulley with the illustrations provided by Katie Scott.
You might also recognize her works Botanicum and Animalium. These books have found their way to many homes, classrooms, libraries and waiting rooms. These are part of the Welcome to the Museum series of books which have been quite popular - and for good reason!
With our daydreams focused on the promise of Spring we turn to Katie Scott's illustrations for a fix of everything from everyday bulbs to exotic flora.
